We are excited to announce the next exciting step for First Point Health Care in Newstead, Launceston, Tasmania in 2025! After 18 years of dedication and growth under the exceptional leadership of Dr Jehan Phillips, it is time to pass the baton to a new generation. We are thrilled to welcome Dr Prashanth Reddy Gangapuram (Dr Reddy) and Dr Sandhya Reddy Manchireddy (Dr Sandhya) as the new owners of the practice. Dr Phillips has been a cornerstone of our clinic, providing compassionate and skilled care to the Launceston community throughout his tenure as the owner and will continue to serve the community as a GP, continuing his valuable work and support, while handing over the reins to the next phase of growth and care.

We are also excited to share that Dr Bianca Lakshmi Perera, who joined First Point Health Care in 2012, will continue to be an integral part of the team. Dr Bianca enjoys consulting with patients in all aspects of General Practice and has become a much-loved and respected member of our clinic. She will remain a vital part of the team alongside the new owners, continuing to provide exceptional care and support to our community. Her experience and dedication will ensure a smooth and consistent experience for all our patients moving forward.

With an incredible legacy to uphold, Dr Reddy and Dr Sandhya come with an impressive track record of owning the Beaconsfield Family Medical Practice, which was awarded RACGP Best Practice of Tasmania 2024. They are now stepping into the role of guiding First Point Health Care with the same passion for excellence and community care that has driven their success. They are committed to expanding services in Launceston and are deeply honored to serve this wonderful community, focusing on quality and affordable healthcare for all.

As the name First Point Health Care reflects, Your Health is Our Priority. Dr Reddy and Dr Sandhya are proud to introduce Bulk Billing as a core part of their vision, ensuring that healthcare remains accessible to everyone in Launceston, Tasmania—especially in these challenging times with increasing cost-of-living pressures. The clinic is now accepting new patients—please bring along your health summary for an easy transition. While most services are bulk-billed, there will be fees for certain procedures not covered by Medicare. For more details, please see the Fees Section.

The official opening will take place on April 14th at 1:30 PM, but you are welcome to enrol beforehand and bring your health summary for a smooth transition.
