Fees and billing arrangements:

Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, Bankcard, Mastercard or Visa. We utilise the Tyro system for the paying of accounts. This convenient integrated system means that you can have your Medicare rebate paid directly into your account of choice (not credit card), within seconds. You don’t have to have your bank account details registered with Medicare and you can pay the fee with debit, cheque or credit account. This means that you do not have to go into the Medicare office to claim your rebate.

The AMA Fee structure, forms the basis of our billing policy and is displayed in the reception area and waiting room of the surgery. If you have any difficulty in paying our fees, please discuss it with us.

The standard consultation fee is $70.60 (5-15 minutes). The GPs at this practice bulk bill children under 16 and pensioners over 65. Valid Health Care Card and other Pension cardholders enjoy a discounted consultation fee. The Department of Veterans Affairs covers the cost of consultations for veterans and their family members who hold a valid card. For appointments longer than 15 minutes, the fee will be greater, but the out of pocket expense is comparable. On occasion, at your request, your doctor may be able to provide you with a repeat script or referral without an appointment. There will be an out of pocket charge of $10 for you to pick this up at the practice. Alternatively, you can request and pay for a script or repeat referral online via HotDoc (if approved by your doctor).

Reminder System: Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor or reception know.
